TOUCH

I'll take you to my secret place
Let you peel away my skin
Let you strip away my face
With you I am naked, humble
Accept me with your touch
Hold me deep with your love
I need you to see me
You need to let go of your fears
Let them go on me
I'll hold you softly
Naked spirit, naked body
Turn our fears into touch
I'll hold you deep with my love
Hold me as I hold you
In this time in this place
Naked body, naked spirit
Together we are safe
Together we are safe.

-JonAnne 1998
MIND DRIVES

Through the world
Under minded rivalry from within
Brought to the light by intensity
To create and suspend
The thoughts of unadorned minded human beings
Deplenish but thrive from themselves
To prod this steam from within
Takes few but far many
Never heard but never said
The thoughts of innumerable
Subside in worthless places
Created without significance
And with unknowing
Never rationalized
But always put forth
In a way the world would understand
Anything is broken up
Nothing is un-broken
But always put in its place with the society.

PERFECTION

I am the broken hearted.
Your species have always used me
You claim words of love,
But my heart hears only lies.
You throw away my picture
No longer to hang on,
The empty walls of your heart.
So I leave this empty house.
I put away hopes of happiness.
I am stuck on the gear of survive.
But you follow me.
You watch me slowly suffer.
When I cry and when I frown.
You say smile darling.
People don't love those
girls without pretty little smiles.
So let me pretend to be perfect.
People will love me then.
They will let me independent
They will let me actually live.
I will show them I can think.
I will let them hear this voice.
I can turn their stupid confusion
into an undying love for me.
You are the one to blame,
for my use of manipulation.
Just repeat after me.
Smile , be perfect , and leave.

LILY VIOLET

I'm a jumbled lily violet
and my petals are wearing thin,
a jumbled lily violet
and I wear my own skin.
My leaves are green
and my stem is long.
I'm a jumbled lily violet
and I sing my own song.

-Teresa Guillen

PEACE

Peace is like a fire
You have to keep giving it wood to burn
If you stop feeding it, it will die
People are the fire
Wood is love
People need to keep loving each other
For without love, our souls die
Hatred takes over our brain, poisoning
The good thoughts that used to dwell there
But if people love one another
They will have happy souls
Souls laughing and singing together
Singing, "Peace at last! Peace at last!"
The earth will brighten with the smiles
Of her children
The clouds of trouble will slip away
Revealing a bright sun, shining proudly
The waters will be crystal clear
Once more
The angels will rejoice
For It has come, at long last
Doctor Martin Luther King Junior’s dream has come true
All races, all colors, all religions
Live in peace
Live in peace!
Peace, the word like honey, sweetening life
Peace!!

RAINING HEART

Though the ribbons flow,
beneath the sun's rays,
they speak very slow,
into my hearts day.
If we chose to rest,
along the rivers song,
when do we rise,
to kiss and get along.
Steady through the waterfall,
we run to save time,
whistling winds and birdcalls,
the shadows soon chime,
the emotion comes,
and goes silently,
into the slums,
of immortality.

WILLOW

I hide among the trees
lost in a place of all truths
no one could ever dream of the beauties.
All that surrounds me are Mother Nature's gifts
the variety of creations fill me with hope.
I turn to the Willow for comfort;
when the lonely aching returns
I nestle myself in the rich soil,
which surrounds her mighty roots.
The branches dangle endlessly around
holding me close, until the pain is gone.
I shed my tears into this richness;
all the leaves gently sob at the awakening.
When the others find me,
they will destroy all that I love.
My clovered Willow will be burned,
and once again the loneliness will seep into my heart,
Hindering me from ever caring.
