| "No. Women should not be allowed to go topless in public. It would be a
major distraction for men. That is like asking if dudes should go outside
with no underwear on. Some people just don't want to see that. But for the
people who DO want to see that sort of thing, that is what porno mags are
for.

| "I don't see what the big deal is...everyone has a body, everyone knows
that it is there. The human body is nothing to be ashamed of--it's a
beautiful creation. If women want to walk around topless, what the hell!
Go for it! From the moment we are able to speak and walk we are taught
that our bodies should remain some sort of secret. That's not right. We
are so narrow-minded.

Well, that's a good question. I mean, men are allowed to go topless in
public. If we went out topless in public then there'd be riots. I think we
should have started out topless and stayed that way so that humankind would
have gotten used to it...but I don't know about now. It makes me angry that
we can't simply because of the principle (it's a blatant double standard),
but I think I would be too afraid to go out topless in public...I'd be
harassed and such...

-Sheeva | "I agree with Cori about Christianity. I was raised a Southern Baptist my
whole life, which I guess to some people seems like a backwoods old-fashioned
sort of thing where women are treated like slaves or subservient sexual
objects or something. But really it's not like that at all. We can have
ordained female reverends and female deacons in the church. A lot of other
religions, like Islam, can't say that. (I'm not trying to put down Muslims
or anything, just making a point). However, I personally wouldn't feel
comfortable with a female reverend. This has traditionally been a man's job,
and I see nothing wrong with leaving it that way. There is nothing wrong
with tradition, and just because a woman can do something does not mean she
should."

"Ok, here's something about guys you should know: We
are wired for sight and sound. That's just the way it
is. What we see affects us more than women. In public
it would be...uh...distracting. A topless woman could
never justify being offended if a man started staring
at her chest. It's going to happen.
A majority (I would be willing to bet 90% with no
exaggeration) of pornography is geared towards men.
Lingerie is made because men respond to it, Hooters is
a national chain because men go there, and Playboy is
not an international magazine because of it's great
articles.
Breasts are sexy. I don't know why, but they are.
They will ALWAYS be sexy. Women are beautiful and
they turn us on. From the beginning of time to the
end. We need to start finding what things are
DIFFERENCES and what things are INEQUALITIES.
Inequalities should not be tolerated. Differences
should be examined, praised, and treasured.
I'm sure all kinds of arguments will be laid out now,
and I am not going to take a stand one way or the
other on this one, but until there is only one sex,
breasts will be sexy.
And maybe even after."

"Should women be allowed to go topless in public? I'd have to respond with
another question: Should men be allowed to go bottomless in public? Let's say
people could walk around completely naked, whenever they wanted, whereever
they wanted. How many people do you know that actually would take advantage
of that?? Sure, on many a hot day I've watched guys do stuff with no shirt on
and wished I could take mine off too. But actually, now that I think about
it, I wouldn't be very comfortable walking around topless.

"Females should definitly not be allowed to go topless in public. A
woman's breasts are a very private, sexual thing, and to expose that much of
oneself in public would be both offensive and distasteful. Public breast
feeding is not the same, because (a), the entire chest is not exposed, and
(b), this is an intimate moment between a mother and child, not sexual in any
way. Anyone with the audacity to openly stare, gawk, or gape at a mother
breast-feeding is a pervert anyways. Men going topless is really only
considered appropriate at swimming pools, beaches, certain outdoor festivals,
etc."

"I constantly have migraines I worry about my look And my period gives me pains. My hair is blond, Is that who I am, Just a blond? My eyes are a sad greyish-blue, I often hear my reflection saying 'What's wrong with you?' Guys have only wanted to be my 'friends' That makes me feel That I am a meeting place for fiends. I try Not to cry. Who am I? " |
"Well, If someone wants to go topless then so be it. They can go to a
beach. That is someone's choice. The only thing is there will be tons
of the wrong types of men after her body. It makes me angry that men
don't go nude at NUDE beaches!!!!"

"I personally don't think women should go topless. To many men, women are sex
toys, and I would hate to have that thought magnified by me going
topless. Besides, even when someone wears a little skirt and/or a belly shirt,
they are considered a whore. Imagine what other people would think of some
girl walking around topless. If I saw some girl walking around topless, first
I would be totally disgusted, then I would immeadiatly think 'slut.'

"I believe that women should be allowed
to go topless in public. If men are allowed
to then I think that women should too because
there is no difference between mens' nipples and
womens'. A woman's breasts are bigger than a man's
just because they need to feed their children.
And if our society doesn't accept that then what
kind of a society are we living in anyways?
Are we letting men rule over us because 53% of
the population are women anyways. So shouldn't men
be overruled by women and we should be allowed to
go topless. And I think that if society says that
we can't then forget society and do what you want
to do. They're our bodies anyways and if we
want to go topless then we will. I know I do even
if someone tells me it's wrong.

| "It's really a matter of choice but how many women would go topless? I mean though it's only fair that men and women have an equal oppurtunity to do as they wish, but how comfortable would you feel if you were walking around with your little brother or sister and you bump into a topless woman? " | "Of course." -Lina |
