Although her views are very right-wing and she has been accused of hate-mongering (mostly because of her belief that homosexuality is a "biological error"), radio and TV pop-psychologist Dr. Laura infuses honesty and insight where most people are afraid to these days. While her methods are a questionable, she puts drunk fathers, cheating wives, drug-addicted teenagers in their place, no excuses. On a recent show, she asked a nineteen year-old woman who had just gotten breast implants why she is basing her entire self-worth on her breasts. You can't argue with that.
While Dr. Laura seems to truly believe what she is saying, TV's Judge Judyseems to be letting off personal steam when she berates her show's participants. Her comebacks/putdowns like "I'm the boss , Apple Sauce" make little sense and serve to augment her power trip. In other words, she's just plain mean. |
